Can you restrict any motorbike?
Engines with restricted power You can restrict the engine power of a motorcycle so that it fits within subcategory A2 (20 to 35kW). You cannot restrict it below half its original power. This means that if the unrestricted power of the motorcycle is 60kW, you cannot restrict it any lower than 30kW.
Can you restrict a bike to 125cc?
Take your theory test and two part practical and on a new A1 licence you can ride a 125cc bike with no L-plates. Before 2013, you could have ridden 33bhp bike at this stage, but since 2013, you are restricted to a 125cc bike until you are 19 years old.
Can I restrict a bike for CBT?
You can restrict any bike to a A2 or 25kw level if the calibrated air restriction are available. A2 lets you ride any bike up to 46bhp/35kW or restrict any bike to 46bhp that is less than 92bhp/70kW, so no R6s or Fireblades. To get A2 you need: CBT + theory test -> Mod 1 -> Mod 2 = R3. How does restricting a motorcycle work?
You restrict it by either putting washers made for the job in the intake, swapping the ECU or putting a throttle stop on. Intake restrictors are also simple, they limit the amount of air/fuel the bike is able to suck in, reducing its power output.

How fast is 125cc?
Both 125cc scooters and motorbikes max out at 60mph, which is double the top speed of a 50cc. This makes them a much more suitable choice if you plan to do longer journeys, or are travelling on A roads. Whereas a 50cc makes a good choice for city riding, 125cc scooters are better for suburban/country riding.
